RegSnap

RegSnap takes and saves snapshots of the Windows Registry and it allows you to compare the saved snapshots. By putting such functionality at your disposal, this application allows you to analyze changes to the Windows Registry. You can find out if Registry keys were deleted, added, or modified.

Support for Windows 8, 7, Vista, 2003, and XP is provided. You won’t have any problems installing RegSnap on a PC powered by any of these Windows editions. The installation process is a standard one: download a 1.5MB archive, extract and run the RegSnapSetup executable, click through the instructions presented by the setup wizard.

When you’re done with the installation process and you run RegSnap, you will first see a prompt that tells you you’re using a 30-day evaluation version. Then you will see a “Welcome to RegSnap” prompt that allows you to choose a default startup action and create a new Registry snaphot.

RegSnap creates snapshots of the Windows Registry and then allows you to compare those snapshots. The developer recommends to compare the two most recent snapshopts, but you’re free to compare any snapshots you want. Select two snapshots and the application will display modified key names or modified key names and key values.

As previously mentioned, RegSnap is not free, it is only free to try for an evaluation period of 30 days.
